Keys
Remap keys, paste snippets, show keystrokes.
- Remap keys — turn a key, a combination, or a double-tap into another key or a special action
- Switch language with one key — e.g. Caps Lock flips between English and Russian
- Snippets — press a key, type a few letters, paste a saved piece of text
- Show keystrokes — great for demos and videos
Configuration
All settings live in ~/.config/keys/keys.conf. Open it in any
editor — changes are picked up as soon as you save.
[remap]
caps_lock: toggle_input
option+shift+a: control+b
control, control: snippets
[snippet]
Hello world
em: my.email@example.com
Remaps use input: output lines (join combinations with
+, double-taps with , ). Snippets are one per line;
prefix with a keyword like em: for fuzzy search.
Special outputs include snippets, toggle_input,
open(Safari), bash(say hello),
paste(Hello!), and ignore.
On first launch
macOS will ask for Accessibility and Input Monitoring access in System Settings — both are required to see your keystrokes.
See the full config reference on GitHub.
